The DCP85CY is a synchronous buck controller that features a wide input voltage range of 5.5 V to 85 V. It supports an extreme voltage conversion ratio across a switching frequency range of 100 kHz to 1 MHz, thanks to a 40 ns minimum conduction time.
The diode emulation (DEM) mode implements pulse-skipping operation, which maximizes efficiency at light load and provides controlled output voltage ripple. Forced pulse-width modulation (FPWM) maintains a constant switching frequency across the load range and minimizes output voltage ripple.
The power-good open-collector output validates the regulated output voltage for monitoring. It also supports output voltage sequencing for digital integrated circuits (ICs) during power-up. An embedded gate driver minimizes the number of external components and is designed for standard threshold-voltage (VTH) MOSFETs.
Embedded protection functions, including output overcurrent, input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), internal voltage monitoring, and thermal shutdown, ensure controlled and safe operation in critical telecom, networking, and Automotive applications.
The device is available in a QFN 20 leads 3.5 x 4.5 mm package with wettable flanks.
